The detail that makes a lit roofline look finished.

Tree, bush and pillar wrapping

Trunks, canopies, porch pillars and front beds wrapped tight, anchored so Nebraska wind does not take them.

How this one goes

Wrapped, not thrown

A wrapped trunk is a spiral with even spacing from the ground to the first branch. It takes longer than draping a strand over the top, and it is the difference between a tree that glows and a tree with a light on it.

Anchored for wind

Every wrap is tied back at the trunk and at the branch, so a 30 mile an hour gust moves the tree and not the wire. We check the anchors again at the first service visit after a storm.

Porch pillars and beds

Pillars get a straight spiral from base to capital, in line with the roofline bulbs. Beds and low shrubs get a light net or a wrap depending on the shape, whichever reads cleaner from the sidewalk.

How many lights does a tree take?
A mature front yard tree with a 12 inch trunk usually takes 400 to 600 bulbs to read well from the street. We quote by the tree after looking at it, not by a flat rate.
Will the wire damage the bark?
No. We wrap over the bark with commercial wire that has no sharp edges and no staples, and we leave the wrap loose enough that the tree is not girdled.
